Virtual keyboard doesn't register completely in Ubuntu

I'm on ubuntu 14.04 using tvpaint and because of the dongle I lose a USB port that I normally use for my keyboard.
I have NO free USB ports left.

Plenty of programs let me use the "ONBOARD" keyboard in such a case ,but tvpaint only accepts random keys,not the whole keyboard.


For example this time "u" works once, komma works all the time,other keys don't work.



I could buy an USB port extender but this should work ,really. (a USB extender gets in my way as well..)
I have the latest TVPAint update. (april 30th)

Does TVPAint 10 get bugfixes still?

I don't have any problem here, so I need to know what is your keyboard configuration, for example : English(US) or French(Canada).

Hello, I had the same issue a while ago and changing the keyboard config in the preferences fixed the problem.
