Interesting concept
making particles this way becomes very intuitive

I've always wondered why expensive software like AfterFX nearly always creates cheap-looking animation. This video explains why.

The soap bubbles are a good example of an FX going wrong. "Kids, who of you can tell me which part of soap bubble motion this animator got totally wrong?"

As much as I like the interface options here, as much I will refrain from using particles if the result looks as poor as this.

But the tool is very fast and clever !
I agree that the examples are pretty awful, but thats the case with most graphic software, top developers don't equal top artists.

To be fair, they are not presenting Draco as an animation tool.
From what I can tell, it is a way to add a few moving details to a still drawing or photo.
Probably good for motion comics, but who likes those? Yecch. :roll:

I agree with slow tiger on this - sure the product makes it easy to move pictures around. But as we all know,
just because drawings move across a screen, it does not mean they are animated.

Computers allow more people than ever to do this moving graphics stuff. But not so many
of those people are actually animating.

The real breakthrough will be a software program that can help make your animated characters better actors.
It would probably have to include some kind of artificial intelligence. I am sure that is a long long way into the future.
