Sorry, a bit confused here...
I've had to re-install TVP after a hard-drive failure, and now mp3 files are not being loaded.
For Example: Loading an existing project that has sound file included complains: <file> Not Found Would you like to select another one?
Then after loading after: Can't open the file: <file>
These are mp3 files about 3-4 MB
But, what's odd is that I can load other files <1MB
Have I missed something?

Re: Loading mp3
It sounds like TVP is looking for the old drive where you previously kept the files but they have now been moved to another location. After opening TVP without the files, have you reloaded these from their new place and then saved your project so that TVP will know from now on where to find them?

Yes, that was this bit:Paul Fierlinger wrote:It sounds like TVP is looking for the old drive where you previously kept the files but they have now been moved to another location. So project is opened without the mp3, and I add sound via any of the available ways and get "Can't open the file..." (except for the small files)scribbly wrote: Then after loading after: Can't open the file: <file>

Re: Loading mp3
Could it be that the mp3 files became corrupted during the HD failure? Can you reload (re-import) the files from their original source, before they got possibly corrupted?

Re: Loading mp3
OK, we'll put this down to the flexibility of VLC, which played the files fine (actually, wmp did too), but file explorer didn't decode.
Converted to mp3 via VLC and loads fine again into TVP.
Maybe it was a codec thing?
Bottom line: we're all good again.
