loading in video material

Post by JohanKlungel »

Hello there,

I keep running into a problem when I load in a video. Either a quicktime or a mp4 file.

The pictures in the timeline do not correspond correctly with the film, when I scroll through them. Even weirder, when I scroll forward it shows something different then when I scroll backward.

Also, sometimes it repeats the first few frames of the film two or three times.

When I do something in the picture, like draw a line, on every frame, so it converts the video-layer to a normal tv-paint layer, it does show correctly in the timeline. But then it's a lot bigger of course.

Have you heard about this problem before?

with kind regards,

Johan Klungel.

When you have an issue with TVPaint Animation, please, don't forget to precise important details :

• What is your OS and its version :

- Mac OSX 10.4 (Tiger) 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion), etc...
- Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, etc...
- Linux Ubuntu 10.04+, Debian 6+, RedHat Entreprise Linux 5+, Fedora 15+

• What is your OS architecture (32 or 64 bit)

• What is your software version (for example : Mirage 1.5, TVPaint 9.5.21, TVPaint 10.0.11, etc...)

• What is your software edition (Standard or Professional)

• For the Professional Edition of TVPaint 10 : What is the architecture (32 or 64 bit) ?

Moreover, don't forget that the more you will give us concrete examples with images or downloadable files, the faster we could answer you.

By the way, don't forget to repeat the details above EACH time you have an issue. We cannot remind the configuration of all our users
(to save time, you can write the information above in your sign)

Latest version is 10.5.5, you should first update, it's free.
Quicktime is DEAD. Get over it and move on !

Hi there,

I just updated, but the problem is still there, I'm afraid. Any idea what could be the problem?

try with the 32 bits version.

Apple doesn't support Quicktime on 64 bits software.

It seems to work normally in the 32 bits version. It's a solution for now. But do you know why it doesnt work in the 64 bits?

Apple isn't playing nice... the problem exists in other programs as well. I have long switched to AVI, which is better quality anyway.

We are not using the same librairies on 32 and 64 bits versions.
QT librairies are not available for 64 bits OS.
