Export window behavior

1. Please add a separate Single Image Export. I think it should be much much easier and faster to export just one single frame than exporting videos.
2. There should be an option to save the Export Settings profiles for faster process of exporting.

Exporting a single frame is the same as any other export. Instead "As Animation" I select "As Single Frame" Format: JPEG Mode:RGB(24 Bits)

Exporting a single image requires much less settings in general, than video export. Therefore, exporting a single image should be made much easier, omitting lot's of settings you need in video export, thus making the export window less clunky. Usually, exporting an animation, and exporting a single frame, are two completely different processes, needed for completely different tasks. So it's quite natural to choose this option from the very beginning. The main reasons I find it necessary right now are: 1 - Switching to single image mode doesn't remove the amount of settings, needed only for video, making the window less clear to the user. 2 - after switching to Single Frame, all export settings change for all other scenes, where I normally only want to export videos fast, so I have to change lot's of settings back to normal again (and this is why we need #2 at this point).

By the way - same kind of intuitive behavior should be in the import window. For example, if I drop just a single frame into TVPaint - why would I need to choose framerate, time interpolation, single image and other unnecessary options? it just makes simple import process slower. Import window should recognize the content and reduce the options to what is really needed.

Not exactly what you're asking for , but on Mac OS I find that a quick way of exporting a single image is to go to Edit > Clipboard > Copy Image to Clipboard , then click on Preview in the dock and use key shortcut Cmd N to open the image in Preview (same thing from File menu > New From Clipboard) , then Cmd S to Save and name image . This requires several clicks -- Copy Image to Clipboard in TVP to copy image , switch to Preview , Cmd N to open image , and Cmd S to save image , but the advantage is you don't have to mess with changing your export settings in TVPaint just to export a single image. I always have Preview open , so it's quick for me to click on it in the dock to switch to Preview , then Cmd N and Cmd S to open the clipboard image and save it . ( I think there's actually way to use Automator to create a key shortcut to automatically open Preview , but I forget how to do that . I almost always have it open anyway , so I haven't made a shortcut for it. )


I guess this could be even faster if I created a custom keyboard shortcut for the command "Copy Image to Clipboard" .

I just tried it ... in the Keyboard configurations the command is under Clipboard > Save (not called "Copy Image to Clipboard" , so that's an inconsistency that the developers should take note of ) .

I assigned the command to key G (which was otherwise unassigned ; of course you can use any available key)

Now if I have a single image I want to export I click G to grab (save) image to the clipboard , click on Preview in the dock , Cmd N to open the image , Cmd S to save it , name image and save.

Thanks for this idea - I tried it also in Windows, and it works the same. (Use any other graphic software instead of Preview - works fine). That's a good solution, except when I need an image with Alpha Channel, which, unfortunately, Clip Board cannot save...
