Standard layer attenuation percentage

Well yes, I am in agreement. I just have reservations about this thought:

which suggests we have a standardized average, which would be impossible to ascertain, wouldn't it? Therefore lets have each user define their own preferences by having the last setting be carried over to the next project. If 30% would be the default it would be for me the same as zero because my values are usually under 20% -- sometimes way below 20. That's all I meant to say (and had said )

So, if you focus on all other parameters from the panel "Display settings", TVPaint ALREADY remembers the different values each time you create a new project. So, for me, the layer attenuation should behave exactly like the other parameters from Display settings. You set the percentage of your choice, and it remains the same, whatever your project is, until your decide yourself to change it.

I haven't figured out how to make Stencil options under "Display Settings" persistent either... is that a bug too or am I just not understanding how to do that?

Updating my question from a while back...

Actually I was asking if it might not be possible to have the setting for Stencil opacity be persistent (remain at its previous setting) from SESSION TO SESSION (each time TVPaint is restarted at the same setting as when I last exited)?

IF not, I'd happily include a George command to set the stencil's opacity in any button that manages various stencil operations.

In a similar fashion, I've been trying to use tv_Display "LayerAttentuation" Toggle 45 to toggle the other layers' attenuation, set to 45% transparency... but I can't get that to work either.


In fact, it might be useful to have an entire set of tv_Display commands that could set up all of the Display Settings options: for Check box, RGB color and transparency as part of any George script.

What if we could set default Layer Attenuation in the template file for new projects?

I rarely use the function because it always resets to 0% (and it takes a lot of clicks to change it), which is a shame, because it's very very useful.

99% of the TVP files I have have the setting at 0%, so the shortcut to turn it on is useless.

George acces to get/set all display settings would be great too.

I still think it could be nice for non George Scripters To be able to set the layer attenuation for all clips in an easy way.
