Animated piece using TVPaint

I found the link to this piece on the ThinkingAnimation blog:

This is by Shawn McInerney. On ThinkingAnimation it says he animated with TVPaint, then inked & painted using ToonBoom. I don't know why he did not use TVPaint to do the Ink & Paint except perhaps the desire to have the final images in vector format for a smaller file size to be uploaded to internet ?
