Moving Image and Selection Shape Together

Post by ndstephens »

Hi Everyone,

i'm new to TVPaint. currently just running the demo and reading through the manual. i have a question where the v.10 manual and actual program seem to differ.

when using the Transform or Warp tool you should be able to choose to move only the image or only the selection shape...or both at the same time. but in the program you can only choose one or the other (and now also to move the selection content). did this change in v.10 so that you can't move both at the same time any longer? in the manual it's referenced on pages 2-19 and 2-20.

if it matters i'm running OSX 10.8, with the demo of v.10 Pro 32-bit.

thanks for any help. so far absolutely love the program, so glad i found it. should be ordering soon (i'm a student and need to find the $$$).

also, when should i post in "English Community" versus "About TVPaint Animation"? both seem to have the same sort of questions in them.

Welcome to the TVPaint community !

In the Tool Panel, while using the Transform tool :
• "Move image" : you move the image, without changing the selection.
• "Move Selection shape" : you only move the selection shape
• "Move "Selection content" : you move the selection and what it contains.

So, you would like to have an option that allows you to move the selection shape and the image (whatever if it's inside our outside the shape selection) at the same time ?

Since i'm so new to the program i can't really say for sure yet if that functionality would be useful to me in the future or not. I was mainly just pointing out a difference between what it looks like the manual is saying the program can do versus what it actually does.

That's not my point here. i just want to be sure I understand your request. =)

So maybe you could show me what moment in the user guide you are talking about ?

sorry, i thought i did in my first post. English manual, version 10, pages 2-19 and 2-20.

and i actually was never requesting any features. i was trying to understand how things worked since it appears to say one thing in the manual, yet the program functions differently.
