Set opacity of other Layers when "Display current"

also I don't know if this has been fixed with the new version
but the lighttable when I reduce the opacity of the current image I would like that the next an previous image ghosts stay opaque,and don't get more transparent as well. Sometimes I need this for beter comparisons


or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

but I meant that when I reduce the slider for the frame on which you draw,on the current frame,the previous and next frames visible through the lighttable get reduced as well (Global opacity change). I would like sometimes for example to view my next en previous frames with current frame at very low visibility.



but this might already be solved in the newer version. I don't have that yet though,I just need a couple more reasons to get it..

That's a new one for me and I've never heard anyone requesting this, but after thinking about it for a minute it began to make sense to me, especially if you are drawing with some careful, tight inbetweens.

But can this be implemented at all? Isn't it the nature of the current frame to be on top of the stack and in full view and focus, so to speak? Can you dim the current drawing if not allowed to use the layer's global slider? I don't have the ability to project imagery through the eyes of a programmer.

The biggest problem will be to find a nice place to put the global opacity slider if the "0" slider sets only the opacity of the current frame.
Or just get rid of it altogether ?

If this can indeed be done, I'd say have the zero do it because I don't know of anyone who actually uses it for anything but to turn it off by mistake and go crazy over what happened to the LT because it's not working anymore.

I guess so -- who ever uses it? Certainly the idea of dimming the current frame is more practical and should be used more often. Can't a global dimmer be effected by having a lock option in the drop down menu that would line all the sliders into an even row and moving any one of those would move the others?

there might still be people who use it globally though,so I wouldn't throw it completely away

What about an enable/disable see layers checkbox. and a keyboard shortcut so you can enable disable solo layers AND enable/disable other layers being seen in solo mode

I like this idea, because ever since I wrote that I have doubts that anyone uses Zero to control global opacity I realized how often I use it just for that reason without even thinking of it. I wanted to correct my statement a long time ago but couldn't find this thread.
