weird pop-up screen while saving

Post by A1 »

I have a weird pop-up screen while saving.

"Stop Saving? If yes, project will be lost."

I have to push a 20-ish times on the no button and then my scene is saved.
Is it really saved? I don't dare to act before i know more...
(like restarting tvpaint or re-loading the scene,...)
I do not want to lose this scene.
help anyone?....

thanks for your time.

Is the same thing happening when you save using the "Save As" option ?
This is the temporary solution in order for you to be sure that your project will be saved.
then could you give the specs of the project you are working on ?

thanks for the reply,
no, it saves ok with the save as option.
But there seems to be something going on with the size of my project.
Between two saves it jumped up with 300 mb. (from 40mb) I must have made a (big  )mistake somewhere.
Does the pop-up screen has to do with the save size?
I'll try to figure out what happened.
thanks!!

next question...

Post by A1 »

ok, so the file increase seems to be the consequence of a keyframer animation on a 12 second layer. I still don't know why it increased as it did, but it did but it is not really a problem.(the pop-up window is gone, don't know why)
However i'm redoing the animation on that layer, and i was wondering if there is any way of having a proper preview while you are setting keys.
A 12 sec animation needs some checking while animating. Unfortunatelly
all i get is a very slow frame by frame play. I can't see what i am doing.
Applying the framestack is not only timeconsuming but also destructive.
Destructive as in ' i have to undo and then redo'.
Is it possible like say in after effects to have a ram preview of some kind?
That way i can see my animation adjust it easely and when i am content i can save the animation and apply it to the frames.
i tried render on a quarter ratio in the preview settings, but to no avail.
If it does not exist, a preview feature that can handle effect previews
non destructively would be more then welcome (in my humble oppinion). If it does exist, please let me know!!

thank you so much, i know i'm a pain in the ass :)

non-destructive if you work on an empty animlayer,
but your KeyFramer (render tab) set to your source layer as Source (merge mode = substitute)
so you tweak the KF keys, apply and play (show current layer only),
then tweak again, apply, play, ... and so on, until satisfaction.
