touchscreen/multitouch shortcuts?
touchscreen/multitouch shortcuts?
Touch screens are gaining traction as well as tablets.
Now I know there are not many good windows tablets that can run tvp adequatly but I have one,and I'm sure there are more to come.
One annoying thing is that TVP sometimes recognizes my palm as a brushstroke.
Another problem is navigation do to lack of keyboard.
I recently discovered how nice Flicks (finger gestures) are when browsing and wondered if this too could not be implemented in tvp.
flicks for panning, rotating canvas, going forward or back in time, zooming in and out,and more.
And even make them customizable.
So:navigation with flicks and multitouch gestures
and all other input with pen (actual drawing etc..)
Ofcourse most users will only work with tvpaint on a desktop
but I was wondering how the development team and some other users might feel about this?

Re: touchscreen/multitouch shortcuts?
LOL I just got myself a fourth monitor because having just three was getting at times crowded. I can't see how anyone could do any serious work but perhaps sketching ideas on something as small as you have.

Re: touchscreen/multitouch shortcuts?
Paul, how are you running 4 monitors off a single machine? Multiple video cards or using one of those Matrox TripleHead2Go devices or something else?

Re: touchscreen/multitouch shortcuts?
Oooh nice! Not a bad price, either, around $450 USD.
Two's plenty for me right now

Re: touchscreen/multitouch shortcuts?
I needed the forth monitor primarily for Vegas as a preview monitor with good to excellent color range. Now that Slocum is going over an hour, I need three monitors to comfortably jump around the timeline. Up until now it went across just two monitors with a third one functioning as a preview monitor. I don't have any need for it in TVP and can't imagine how anyone would.

Re: touchscreen/multitouch shortcuts?
It's a good setup for that kind of thing. A friend of mine who does post-production work uses 3 monitors and an HD television for video preview.

Re: touchscreen/multitouch shortcuts?
That was my setup until now -- same video card, but the TV set was in an awkward position relative to my desk so I finally opted for the purchase of another monitor, an NEC MultiSync LCD 2490 WUXi. Sandra paints on the same one so we now have reasonably well coordinated colors.

Re: touchscreen/multitouch shortcuts?
apparently this turned into a screen discussion thread
lineart is hardly a problem, and even some cleaner work. I have also used it to tie down some colors ,and then taking it to my desktop to finish it up. It's also my main "workstation" when I can't be at home in my tweaked out evironment. So yes you could use it too play around, but it's also a professional tool for on the go working.
I no longer have to rush home when at a friends' house when an employer sends me a new task.
The only problem being the lack of a keyboard,or having to lug one around. So some customizable touchkeys would be grand for the most used navigation and action commands.
But I do understand TVP not needing it if there is no demand. It would be a different matter if cintiqs were tocuhfriendly as well.
well seeing how my cintiq is as big as my tablet (12 inch) i'd say that's nothing too bad.LOL I just got myself a fourth monitor because having just three was getting at times crowded. I can't see how anyone could do any serious work but perhaps sketching ideas on something as small as you have.
