cut selection without putting it on a new layer?

Post by sharonkatz »

How do I delete or cut a selection without putting it on a new layer?
For example, I make a selection with the Magic Wand Select tool and my options are Copy to Layer, Cut to Layer etc.
Is there any way to simply cut or delete the selection?
Thanks,
Sharon

or hit the "Skull & Bones" button to clear the selection's content.

Delete key or the skull bones button - totally makes sense! Thank you.
