"delete single exposure" option ?

Post by chatbraque »

Hello

might it be possible to get a :
"Delete Single Exposure"
within the "configure Keyboard Shortcuts" ??

When I'm working on several layers, such as : a black outline layer, a color layer, a shadow layer etc…
… if I configure a key with "delete image"* in order to remove an exposure in the clip (on all the layers)… TVP deletes the exposure (cool) but makes also a copy of the "head-images" on this same location… and it's not what I'm expecting…
… my wish is just to remove the Exposure on all the layers, not to get this copies … that I'm always obliged to put back in place .

any solution, or suggestion ?

THX a lot

- * The closest option I found ;o))
- "Add single exposure" does exist, and works great… please give us a "Delete Single Exposure" ;o))

Here's a Custom Panel I've had since way back when, and there's a button in there I still use that does just what you want. You might find a couple other ones in there useful too (and a couple already obsolete):

Hello Paul

Thank's again for sharing… your stuffs are very helpfull…
… but, actually, I'm not sure to find the key I'm loocking for, among them…

Maybe I'm not on the right way…
well, I find helpfull (when working in flash by instance) to be able to increase or decrease the number of exposures (instance in french) within a clip…… and not only within a layer…
… any images :

second.jpg

third.jpg
therefore, I guess that I need a " delete single exposure" option to put in a shortcut, like I did with " add a single exposure"
… but this option does'nt exist, yet.
… your buttons are working by layers, but not on the clip, ain't they ?!
(or maybe Im wrong ?)

Look at this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3468&p=27465&hilit= ... ing#p27465" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There's a very popular plugin button called Delete Instance Keep Timing.

Thank's again Paul… but I already downloaded it…
… and it's the same with this button… it only works "by layer"…

I'm looking for the very same, but working on the entire clip (all the layers at once)…

(well… maybe am I missing an information… something that might allows me to get it active on the entire clip , and not only layer by layer ???)

THX again

Maybe I'm not understanding the problem - but what I do is:
- select all the affected layers
- grab the exposure handle and drag it to shorten the exposure.

"Holly macquerel" ! …I already ask a similar question last year on the french forum ;o((
(it only proves that I'm not spending enough time with TVP… baaaad boy !)

… Yout tip is great Slowtiger… and it's in the documentation (I had forgotten the way to do it… I'm afraid to have Elzheimer gently knocking at my brain's door ;o(()

Anyway, I would find usefull to get the same result without being obliged to select all the affected layers… just by positioning the cursor in the timeline and hitting a key
(as long as there are no "head-frames" in the layers underneath … of course)

Then… I'm maintaining my request… you know, the beauty of "Add an instance" is that - when you're not "on" a "head frame" it does'nt add an instance on all the layers (head and exposures) but only an "exposure" to the instances… and that's what I'm really looking for (in reverse, by deleting… see ??)

Plus - if "Add an instance" does exist and is usefull, "delete an instance" might exist too and be usefull as well… to me it's logical, and it's the way I'm working with flash (shift-F5 / F5)… it saves time, really, and I see it as a very cool feature

thanks a lot for the tip Slowtiger… and Paul, i'm already using a few buttons of yours

(this forum is great)

Hello

Two updates since I prayed for that very, very useful "feature"…
… no answer here…

"Too late… the next update, it's already set" has been answered on the french forum
(two updates back (?!))

… is this option available in the brand new version (.10) ?

if not… is it really so difficult to improve ? (I had no answer to that question either)

if not "so difficult"… can anybody fix it with George or something ?
(I can pay for it… if you do'nt charge too much… :D )

Thanks !

Thx for answering…
Any chance to get it on a (new) 9.5 update ?

//edited //…

Please Elodie… I already spent so much time writing this thread…
and english is not my mother tongue… it's very difficult to me…
… would you please, be nice, and consider what i'm talking about ?…
(you know… I already explained it in french on the french forum…)

"Delete image" is already available for a very long time… ai'nt it ?
… then, it's not what I'm talking about…

let's have a look at the feature : "project : Clip : Add single exposure"

… when you use it in on a multi layered project - by positioning your cursor in the timeline at a place where no head instances are situated underneath - it's able to add an exposure on all the layers… without adding a head instance…

I need to do the same when deleting an exposure - on all the layers at once, by placing my cursor above in the timeline on a spot with no "head instances" underneath… … AND not getting head instances in return on all the layers under this spot…
like it's the case when using "delete image" …
(otherwise you're obliged to delete them one by one on each layers)
… Do you see what I mean ?

(It's maybe easier to understand when testing by yourself… if my explanations are not clear enough…)

Chatbraque...

If I tell you "this is in TVPaint 10", it means "this is in TVPaint 10" =)

Yes, the feature is still name "Delete image", because it's true. "Delete image" is in the "Clip menu" > it deletes the current image, on all the clip.

Unfortunately nope.

In fact, we didn't plan to release any new TVPaint 9.5, so when you asked for your feature, we added it in the beta version 10. Your request also brought many other changes, as many things were not logical in the top menus.
Now TVPaint 9.5 and 10 are too different (localization names, features etc...)
The last updates we released for TVPaint 9.5 didn't change anything in the interface : those update only fixed very important bugs (dongle not recognized by Mac Lion, Quicktime bugs etc...), that we couldn't "put in parenthesis".
and english is not my mother tongue… it's very difficult to me…

It's not my mother tongue neither ^^" You decided to open this topic in English instead of posting it the French Community, it's not my fault

Okay !… I understand better now !
Like you say furtrher :
"many things were not logical in the top menus"

So… Happy to see that my request has been taken into consideration
(it's so helpfull in flash !)

Well it's worth it… I wonder why, but you really don't get the same feedback when written in french on the french forum… :D
(as you can see ! )
