There are 3 different light table modes. Instance, frame and bookmark.
It would be really useful if this option could be split between frames in the past and frames in the future. Often I wish that i could bookmark a frame far in the future and have it appear in my light table, but than display a few instances directly in the past. This way I can always know where I am heading with my animation and now exactly where I have been.
Thanks for making such great animation software. Never found anything that is even close.

Hmm, personally, I'm not sure I have understood you and your need.
(Or could someone -more awaken than me- help me to understand ? )
You would like to see in the light table the images you were before ? For example, you bookmarked image 6, and then, you went on image 3, 8 and then 5 => So you would like to see in transparency the image 3, 8 and 5 as "previous images" and your bookmark on image 6 as "next images" ? I'm a little confused, could explain more ?This way I can always know where I am heading with my animation and now exactly where I have been.

I don't quite understand either.

Re: Light table mode split future and past.
i understand ( i think)
Kyler suggests to have the possibility to set the three options separately for the left (pre) and right (post) side of the lighttable
i can see it being useful ...(somewhat)
for instance setting one marked image as a "goal" image while seeing the newly created instances as a trail behind...
but implementation needs to be elegant and "buttonlight" i think because there is already the reletivly easy workaround of setting marks for desired frames
p.s. isn't it great that feature requests are slowly becoming this specific! it means TVP is slowly leaving very little to desire...

It still lacks that big "make impressive animation instantly" button.

We are still trying to create it after 20 years of development.slowtiger wrote:It still lacks that big "make impressive animation instantly" button.

Don't try too hard; the way things are right now keeps us all irreplaceable.Fabrice wrote:We are still trying to create it after 20 years of development.slowtiger wrote:It still lacks that big "make impressive animation instantly" button.

Re: Light table mode split future and past.
Ky,
Here's a custom button that will toggle between the three modes for the Light Table even when the Light Table isn't displayed but is in effect for a layer. Click the button any time to temporarily change to Bookmark mode then toggle back to Instance mode or Frame mode...
BTW this uses an undocumented command so it might stop working in future TVP updates.

Thanks for the button.
