Stick on head when jumping from instance to instance

Post by skomdra »

This little thing had me some headaches and I think it's not difficult to implement.
My workflow often requires jumping from one instance to an other which is great to flip and check the movement and in my opinion better then just relay on the light table. But, sometimes it becomes tricky. If the end instance (last in the layer) has more then one frame, command "next instance" for some reason goes until the end of this instance. Since I mapped next and before instance to my tablet wheel, in drawing passion ;) I end too often by drawing at the last frame of layer which creates another instance moment I start to draw. I can avoid this by simply reducing the last instance on one frame, but then it becomes annoying with testing, you know, this one frame is difficult to notice.
So, here is my solution, why not to stick on heads? I don't know what is the use of the last step in next instance to lead my timeline head to the end of the last instance? Why simply not to end on the head of the last instance in the layer?

Try this:
Main menu/Layer/Exposure/Auto Break Instance...uncheck.

Thanx Paul, I'm aware of this, but then, what with adding breakdowns and in-betweens with delete key? I like to auto break instance, I don't like to end on the end of the last instance.

EDIT: Ok, I just figured I can use the "clear the instance" instead delete, so I'll get use to it.

And then there is "Delete Instance and Keep Timing".

You can also do a search "Delete Instance, Keep Timing" and you get this:
