out of pegs / drawing time
out of pegs / drawing time
I don't know about others but when I use the out of pegs mode, after moving the drawing to the right spot I want to start drawing. At the moment we have to select the stroke option to tell TVP that your drawing is positioned and it's drawing time.
I suggest another way to tell this to TVP, because searching a button allways takes time and takes you a bit out of your flow. A faster an more intuitive way would be a double klick. This way you stay with your artwork, both emotionally and fysically.

I agree.

Actually this could also be implemented in the position and wrap tool (and there's probably other tools I forget here), wher you also have to search for an apply button where a double klick would do the trick without leaving your artwork.

Re: out of pegs / drawing time
Wouldn't it bother you that a double click (of the pen I presume) will leave a mark on the frame? And if you'd have to click off frame -- well, you might as well click once on a button.

When OoP is in effect and you right-click (lower barrel switch) and press your stylus tip, the pop-up menu at the cursor asks if you want to Reset panning, scale or angle... what if there were a fourth option, Return to draw mode?

Re: out of pegs / drawing time
Sven, the Swap tool you made me does this perfectly. After I set my out of peg position, I just press my "draw" toggle key and the off peg bounding box is instantly replaced by my pen tool. Since I keep my left hand finger constantly on that swap button anyway, this is an ideal solution.

Re: out of pegs / drawing time
When in out of pegs mode your pen does not draw. (if it would draw I would not have suggested this) Same when you're in position or wrap mode. Double click works faster than searching for a button somewhere else. You don't have to leave your artwork for it.Wouldn't it bother you that a double click (of the pen I presume) will leave a mark on the frame?

Where do I find more info about this Swap tool?Sven, the Swap tool you made me does this perfectly. I should fire off a PM to Sven. For a nominal fee, you'll get the best script you'll ever add to TVP!
Re: out of pegs / drawing time
Do I understand this right? People critique an idea because they bought themselves a solution?
Personally I see this very different. I payed a fee to TVP to use their software. I'm on this forum to make suggestions that could make the soft even better or more userfriendly for future versions. Sometimes they implement it almost instantly with a patch. Others have to ripen or move to a next version (or will never be implemented at all for whatever reason). When the next version of TVP comes out I will be happy to buy the upgrade (if on that moment the budget says yes). In the meantime I am very happy to wait, and work with what I have.
not happy about this. Please someone tell me I misunderstood.

no, but a double click could shift the new out off peg position.hilere wrote:When in out of pegs mode your pen does not draw. (if it would draw I would not have suggested this)Wouldn't it bother you that a double click (of the pen I presume) will leave a mark on the frame?
i agree this "getting out of - out of pegsmode" issue needs improvement. but i have no better suggestion.

Re: out of pegs / drawing time
Makes sense. But if I look at my past experience with Photoshop, where the transform is also settled with a double klick, I can't remember a moment where this gave a problem.

Re: out of pegs / drawing time
It could be solved quite simply by having the position apply itself automatically each time it is moved.

Re: out of pegs / drawing time
It would be nice if this was the solution. But if it's applied each time it's moved this means you can then draw? How do you then move it again if your first move was not correct? Maybe with holding down a modifier?
For me the double klick stays the best option if this does not give the problem Peter was bringing up.
