Funny Function Discovered :-)

Post by Animark »

Hey, today two of my students told me about a funny function they discovered while using TVPaint:

Create some empty frames (maybe 10) on a layer. Press control and spacebar at the same time, hold them and start to draw. While drawing the timeline plays and some pieces of the line will follow your cursor. It is strange and funny and it don't makes really sense. The students asked me if this is a special hidden feature or an easter egg?

Try it out.

No, it exists since a long time (and it's not necessary to press the space board, only the ctrl is sufficient :D )

It's use full when you want to quickly draw some fireflies : :mrgreen:

Every TVPaint day brings something new :D. Now I am thinking about the motivation for this feature, when it was implemented some time ago. Yes, fireflies, ok. :-) My students talked about how to animate a group of ants very fast. I had some fun while playing with this stroke animator and different brushes. What was the idea behind this? Is the idea finished, or maybe stopped half ways? I think, I like it, even if I don't catch the deeper meaning of it - this time.

The idea come from an old Deluxe paint feature: http://www.tvpaint.com/forum/viewtopic. ... int#p12569" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I just discovered this! Wow. This will be very useful when I want to quickly map out a motion template for an insect, flying machine, fire, fluid, etc. Very nice indeed!

The best way to learn a new program is to touch the buttons you don't know what they are for :)

It's called "Stroke Animator.......CTRL"
Quicktime is DEAD. Get over it and move on !

Elodie, I like those fireflies! Now I've got to think up a project where I can use some fireflies ("lightening bugs"). :D
