maybe can you use the "Image Source FX" before the "Add Border FX" on an empty layer?

Ah perfect! I hadn't actually ever used that effect before, thanks!

My characters have to be filled with a moving texture. Before, I filled the screen with blue around my character, had my looping animated texture on the bottom layer, and then merge all / key out the blue.
Does anyone know an easier way to drop fill an animated texture inside a shape?

there must be at least 10 variations to do it.
and some of them might be a few steps shorter then yours...

also its probably better not to use keying as it tends to eat at the edges of your lines.

here is how i would do it: switch on the stencil for your blue mask layer (the S colomn in the layerpanel)
(oh and you can best create the mask on a seperate layer (using fill shape with source option))
then simply select the animated texture layer and erase it. now just delete the mask layer and your ready.

Thanks for that! I agree, there are so many ways to do things with TVP. And I can't always come up with the best solution..
So thank you once again. All this for my next job, involving cartoon characters against live video.. Whew!
