I'm wanting to find an easy way to copy a section of an frame and paste that section (which is now a brush) onto another frame in exactly the same location as the original.
However, I do not wish to replace the whole frame with the copied part - I only want to add the copied part to the new frame - so it is lined up in the same position as the original.
At the monent I'm having to create a new layer above and delete everything apart from the bit I want and then merging the layer with the new frame below.
Is there a quicker way to do this?
copy and paste selection to new frame
Re: copy and paste selection to new frame
after your section defined by using a Selection tool (Select FreeHand tool f.i.), click [Copy to Brush],
then, in the timeline, go to the frame(s) where you want to past it, and click [Stamp in Place]
then, in the timeline, go to the frame(s) where you want to past it, and click [Stamp in Place]
Re: copy and paste selection to new frame
If I've understood well :
-Use the Selection tool and select the part you want to move on another layer
-Copy or cut this part to layer : -And you will have the part selected cut or copied on a layer above.
If you want to repeat this action on several frames : just select the frames you want before click on cut or copy to layer =)

I think what you are looking for is key command Tools:Draw Dot (it's the = key by default.BenEcosse wrote:I'm wanting to find an easy way to copy a section of an frame and paste that section (which is now a brush) onto another frame in exactly the same location as the original.

Re: copy and paste selection to new frame
I should clarify; copy the frame, move to any other frame and paste using the "=" key.

not exactely, draw dot stamps at the current position of the cursor, not at the original place of the copied brush,Paul Fierlinger wrote:I think what you are looking for is key command Tools:Draw Dot (it's the = key by default.
[Stamp in Place] is the right tool for Ben here .
btw, I can't find [Stamp-in-Place] in the (right-side) shortkey commands list, does it already exist ?
and if not, I reiterate this request.

It's the snow. We're in our second day of blizzard weather -- something for which they have a new name now: Snow hurricane. You can't get all the answers right in snow hurricanes.

Mads included a button for stamping-in-place in his excellent custom tool panel (using a clever embedded script).ZigOtto wrote:btw, I can't find [Stamp-in-Place] in the (right-side) shortkey commands list, does it already exist ?
