Wacom ( Cintiq ) Wavy/Jittery lines

Post by scholar »

Hiya

I am experiencing a really annoying problem with my cintiq:

cintiq-jitter2.jpg (15.17 KiB) Viewed 9100 times
IE, the pressure somehow jitters drastically and well... totally ruining the line quaility.

What I have tried

1) Turn subpixel on and off ( no effect )
2) try a different Grip Pen ( no effect )
3) stop/start net.exe wacomtablerservice ( no effect )
4) I am under Windows XP, so although I tried to look for a 'Pen Flicks' thing but I think there isn't one, I could be wrong about that though

Anyone any ideas?

Could screenshot and send me your tool panel ? (hold it with left click and press "G" : the panel will be copy as a custom brush)
Maybe you've set your tool strangely =)

Right Right. I was following Lemec's 'Custom brush' video tutorial. And it was like 2 in the morning

so that was my close encounter with the 'profile Editor kind.

To my defence the video is pretty 'pixelated, but on repeated viewings, one of the important things to do is to keep the altitude much flatter for much longer then you would imagine, and then in a quick sharp turn max it out to get consistent results.

If you try to do a 'smooth nice looking' curve like what my brain is conditioned using photoshop for years, that will result in the unpredictable wobbly behavior.
Thanks!
