new mm drawings

Post by Klaus Hoefs »

New screens from my wip, "musselman"
On the tech-side, nothing special used here - just a simple 1 px drawing pen and a colored brush.

Like it! The textures have a depth I often miss in animation artwork, although it must've taken you awfully long to draw it with a 1px pen.

I'm particularly drawn to the spiders web and the way you have created it by erasing away at your line work (?)
Are you going to animate the web?

@Ben:The spiders web is part of one longer pan and yes, some gossamer are also animated.

@Markus: No not really , it doesn't take long to draw those things, I think it's more a matter of concentration. The whole image is about 3000 px width (the film is at 1024x576 px) - I made several different pan and zoom -versions and it was a lot of fun to work with the new camera.

PS: You may notice the low contrast at the left - which I adjusted in Vegas later.

As usual, I am totally entranced by the mood you create. I feel I could be anywhere in the world and see something you made and know "Klaus did that."

The dark brooding is full of life and somehow I get the feel that things unknown are moving toward realization.

I know, I know. We aren't supposed to say just that we like something without being really critical. But this is what I really think about seeing your additional work.
