Dotted lines

Post by zSpaceAstronaut »

Hi,

I tried to search for this problem around here but couldn't find any threads.
I occasionally can't draw continuous lines - they're just dots.
Deleting and thrashing the config.ini file solves it, until it happens again like 30 min later.
Any ideas why this is happening?

System: Mac Pro, Snow Leopard 10.6.1, Tvpaint std 9.5.3.

Cheers

Just a guess: is the "step" parameter of your current tool connected to the mousewheel or some other input device which you can touch by accident?

No, I use mostly the blue standard pen brush, it hasn't any step parameter. Perhaps it's the driver for my Intuos 3. I've downgraded it from the latest beta for Snow Leopard. So far so good. Though if it is the driver it should affect Photoshop too I assume, which it doesn't.

Are you sure you haven't chosen the "dot" tool ?

I'm quite sure.
Anyways, the old Wacom driver works as expected, though as I said, the non-continuous lines only occurs in tvpaint for me.
Bye and thanks

That's strange, your the first and only person who get that. But why don't you update your old drivers ? And could you provide us a screenshot of your problem ? =)

That makes me feel special Elodie:). I have no idea how the wacom drivers could mess with the tvpaint config file, but somehow there seems to have been a relation, since deleting that file made the dotted lines go away for a while. I downgraded the wacom drivers since it was under the latest beta for Snow Leopard that the dot lines occured (among other troubles). On the wacom site it says the one I'm using now 6.1.0-7 is not for use in Snow Leopard, but it actually works. The dotted line problem hasn't happened since I downgraded, so right now I'm a happy camper. If this happens again when they finally release the official driver for Snow Leopard I will come back...

Thanks
