The New Tool Bin

The new default tool bin is very nice and compact, but what are some of these new tools without comments meant to be (circled in blue and purple below)?

I think Mark Chong referred to the middle on in the blue circle as a pastel (in one of his new tvp tutorials), although it looks like a paint brush of some sort. I'm not sure about the other two ( I don't have tons of experience in traditional mediums). In the purple circle, is the first one meant to be a crosshatch tool?

Also how did the fleshy green plant one get the name Dragon (yellow circle)?

The tool bin has entirely made by Fabrice.

There are no comments on those new tools, because it's hard to name brushes We may do it in the future updates.
They are just example of what you can do with TVP =)

Apologies, I thought they were designed with a very specific physical medium in mind and I was interested in comparing the digital to the physical. If he designed them more freely then fair enough.

I used to be quite into Audio synthesis, so I can understand what you mean. Sometimes you would design sounds that were similar to, or were attempting to emulate other instruments. So they were quite easy to name. However, there was a whole other world of sounds to experiment and design that didn't have a real world equivalent. They were much harder to name.

Maybe one day I'll get more into the 'medium synthesis', but I already have sooo much to learn in terms of drawing and colour at the moment.

I also really like Peter Wassink's tools. His pencils are exceptional.

Btw, I always like to explore animbrush capabilities, combined with papers.
When making papers or brushes, I try sometimes to imitate the real tools, sometimes I do things that does not exist in the real life.

In fact I really do have need for a special brush that does not exist in real life:

Problem: animating a waving rope I need a double outline

It would be nice to draw two paralel lines at the same time,
that always keep the same distance no matter which direction I draw
and each of them should be preassure sensitive to the size

Is that possible?

I remember I did something like that for a rope tutorial long time ago in Director ... basically I used two brushes (two simple circles), the lighter top one a bit smaller than the darker bottom one. I made one of them follow the other via Lingo, and this way I got a "rope" with two darker outlines.

I think you could tweak a watercolour brush to your purpose.

Oh I should have asked earlier!

After figuring out how to edit the size and the distance it is exactly what I need.
It is very timesaving and makes a wonderful dynamic stroke.

its community, ... and the devoted reactivity* of the developpement team

on the old one, RMB-click /This Panel /Delete.
then Quit and re-start tvpa, the new version should be here.

... Nevermind, I found it.

I added the process just in case some other users (less experimented than you, dear Sierra)
stay stuck with an old CP version. (it happened to me with the Animator Panel's updated version).
