I obtained my update by going to TVPaint Help->Check for updates...

WOW! ....excellent. I must now take back all my evil thoughts when I tried to install buggy MIR update file.

Hello,

I have the standard educational version of tvpaint 9 and after updating to 9.5 I'm getting an error message "this is only available in tvp pro" ?

This happens each time I launch the program... I can still use it of course, no problems with any functionality that would be expected for my version of the software, but the beep and error box each time I launch is a little irratating!

is this normal?

I've deleted any and all configuration files that I know to remove and reinstalled everything more then twice (including sentinal drivers).

Developers are searching were this strange bug comes from (But I know it can have a such error message, for example when using the tool camera) =)

A new update is available for TVP Animation 9.5 :

-No more "Pro only" bug when starting a Standard Edition
-Red Mirage dongles bug fixed
-Missing shortcuts come back and work.
-The "What's new in TVP Animation 9.5" now works

in case its helpful at all to the bug fixing process I installed the update on a fresh install of windows xp with the same result. I imagine its not an erroneous setting left behind from the previous version : )

There was an error occuring during process of installation of 9.53:

TVPAPThumbnail9.dll is used by explorer to display preview. So you need to close any explorer windows during installation.
If it does not solve the problem you should close all other applications or, the best way, re-start Windows.

I have been away for a while learning puppetering. Getting back to the latest version is my dream come true. The camera tool is to me the greatest thing since ice cream! (i'm diabetic,so it's like a forbidden fruit-full of powerful desire.)phew, sorry got carried away. A salute to the crew at TVpaint!

Due to some busy distractions, I am slowly discovering this update. One feature is something I have wished for: I love that it keeps my markouts! It was bothersome to have to reset them every time I opened a project. Thanks!
