Random Shakes

Post by Paul Fierlinger »

I need to render a KeyFrame motion that appears like a shot made with a shaky camera. Is there a setting somewhere for this or do I have to try my best to create my own shakes, one KeyFrame at a time? I've been trying this but haven't managed to create a convincing degree of subtlety in the shakes yet (maybe after 10,000 hrs).

Take your own camera, record an object in the front of you, load the video in TVP and track the object with the Pixel tracker.

Other solution:
Use the stroke recorder to draw a shaky path and apply it to the keyframer position.

This sounds like a good solution. So how do I apply it to the KF position?

The outcome. Asking for camera shake was a little misleading. I needed the shakes one experiences on a boat skimming over choppy seas on a nice day. OOPS! WRONG clip. I'll be back.

I kept the goofed, pre-shakes clip uploaded so that you may see the source compared to what the shakes altered the dynamics.

Paul you should record smoother movement, and make sure you have "preserve timing" checked.
