Regular crashes! What can I do?
Regular crashes! What can I do?
Back again ^_^ I'm experiencing regular crashes with tvpaint (one or more a day), mostly when just going through the frames in the timeline. The project isn't extraordinary big, neither are the brushes, I don't have anything else open. Is there anything you can advise me? Or is there a way to create an autosave function or anything like that?

On what OS, windows or MacOSX ?
Have you the latest version of TVPA[P] ?
Did you check your memory ?

Re: Regular crashes! What can I do?
Sorry, forgot to mention ^_^ I've got a mac os 10.5, tvpaint is 9.03
With memory do you mean the proxy bar?

Re: Regular crashes! What can I do?
First, you need to update to 9.0.7 .
By memory, I mean the physical RAM in your computer.
*Random* crashes are often due to bad memory chips, TVPA does stress the memory much more than most other programs.
Crashes you can reproduce are a totally different matter :(

I got the 9.07, but if I drag the program into my applications folder, will I lose my custom brushes and settings? I don't succeed in exporting brushes, it's like they don't become transparant, but I get a white field under it.

No, you will keep all your config.Ealynn wrote:I got the 9.07, but if I drag the program into my applications folder, will I lose my custom brushes and settings?

Thanks, got the newest version now. Is this the ram? 4 gb 800 mhz ddr2 sdram - I believe it's fast and it's a fairly new computer, so in hardware terms there shouldn't be anything wrong. Maybe the crashes will be over in this new version? I'll keep you posted.
