"FLIP" button disabled

Post by D.T. Nethery »

I have an odd problem that has developed in recent version of TVP PRO. I have noticed it for some time now, but have not thought to ask about it here because it is a small annoyance and I have other ways to work-around it. However, today I notice it again and want to fix it:

The "Flip" button does not work if I touch it with my Wacom pen tip . "Flip" will work if I click on it with a mouse or if I use the key shortcut "W".

On older versions of TVP the "Flip" works if I touch it with the Wacom pen. But now I must use "W" key or the mouse to click on "Flip" button.
It is not too difficult to simply use the "W" key , but sometimes I do not want to reach for the keyboard and all my other Wacom Cintiq express keys
and Wacom pen buttons are programmed to other functions.

I would prefer to be able to touch the Flip button with my pen tip. I expect the fix is something simple that I have overlooked , but I can not find the solution to enable the Flip button again.

I am running TVP PRO 9.07 on Mac OS 10.5 (Macbook Pro) with a Cintiq tablet.

same here.
i don't have a mouse here on my laptop but with the mousepad it doesn't work either.
only the shortcut W (and off course the button in the animator panel)

Since V9, the flip behaviour is inverted, right mouse button click to automatic flip, left mouse button + drag left/right to manual flip.
Do a right click and moving is not easy on wacom tablet and It's not possible on some non wacom tablets .

Then this is an interface problem.
it looks like a button but it behaves like a springloaded slider.
the design of the slider needs adjustment.
The user should be able to tell from how that button looks, what to do with it.

something along these lines:

I forgot all about this, because I use a custom panel. I was just testing it because someone reported as not working. Isn't this going to be a problem for newbies? There is no other button within the GUI that works only with RMB.

but this one works with both buttons (as some others), but differently :
- RMB flips automatically (playing a short sample around the current frame, then back to the current frame),
- LMB flips interactively, you have to LMB-Hold&dDrag left or right side to make it flip (according to your gesture), then, when released, back to the current frame.
personally, I would have chosen the opposite, LMB for auto-flipping, RMB-Hold&Drag for interact-flipping.

Peter, if the image is your proposition, I don't think it looks good, as it looks like 3 buttons juxtaposed, and not one.

I never knew about the LMB option and I agree with you that it would have been better to have it as the opposite arrangement.
