Re: Broken lines with custombrush ?
I have Wacom Intuos III with driver 610-6
I tested different settings of sensitivity in Wacom and it makes no difference; still works. Be proud.

Michael, you need the latest beta version...Sewie wrote:How do you do this ?It works fine here as well. I like what it does in combination with two colors in the A and B pen with @smear applied. I'm keeping it. Thanks.
I just tested it and there the problem is indeed solved.
So it turns out the team had already found this bug and solved it, now you just have to wait for the update.

Re: Broken lines with custombrush ?
I just tried it with driver version 4.93 but that doesn't work at all on Vista x64.ZigOtto wrote: no, I've tested your custom brush on v9.0.4 and it works fine, like in Paul's test .
I rather think it's a last wacom driver matter, I have a v4.78.6 and a wacom2 ... and no broken lines (see pict.)

Will that be the update or the upgrade ?
Thanks a lot for helping out, guys !

hey i missed your post zig.ZigOtto wrote:no, I've tested your custom brush on v9.0.4 and it works fine, like in Paul's test .Sewie wrote:Can that beta version be the reason Paul is getting better results with my brush ? If so; is the paint engine changed and improved in the update/upgrade ?

its strange but i got the same result Michael had (see those images) using version 9.0.6
but now i can no longer replicate it, and the lines are completely smooth. #$@???
So Michael there might be a solution still.... ( although i don't understand whats going on)
what version of TVP do you have?

Pro 9.0.6
Do you still get smooth lines when applying very light pressure on your wacom ?

Re: Broken lines with custombrush ?
Sewie, can you try with brush smooth option to "Medium" instead of "Best", to see if any difference ?
try also the brush in Alpha mode, with colorA = black.

yes! that's the weird thing i'm not sure what's going on. You saw in the image i posted that i had the exact same problem but now its gone and at low pressure its completely smoothSewie wrote:Do you still get smooth lines when applying very light pressure on your wacom ?
and also at 20% opacity the line is perfect evenly grey..?

..or this one ?
9.0.7 or 10.0.0Peter Wassink wrote: what exactly is the difference?
That is strange... Maybe you triggered a hardware or driver setting when you opened the beta version ?Peter Wassink wrote:You saw in the image i posted that i had the exact same problem but now its gone and at low pressure its completely smooth and also at 20% opacity the line is perfect evenly grey..?
If you reboot and restart TVP 9.0.6 first, do you get the same smooth results ?

Re: Broken lines with custombrush ?
the second one, the brush mode "Alpha Stamp", but you can try the "Alpha diff" as painting mode as well,Sewie wrote:This alpha...?...try also the brush in Alpha mode, with colorA = black.

though I don't think it will fix your broken line issue. it seems it has something to do with the data transfert from the wacom tablet,
have you try to tweak the sensibility curve of the pen in the wacom utility ?
maybe by setting the lower value to 4 or 5, you can discard the 0>5 levels and stop this eratic behavior of the strokes at very low pressure ...?
anyway, happy bunny & eggs to everyone !
Re: Broken lines with custombrush ?
I tried it all, but it doesn't help. The newer wacom drivers don't have that many settings that can be adjusted, though...ZigOtto wrote:the second one, the brush mode "Alpha Stamp", but you can try the "Alpha diff" as painting mode as well,Sewie wrote:This alpha...?...try also the brush in Alpha mode, with colorA = black.

Re: Broken lines with custombrush ?
indeed, it will be a free bugfix.Sewie wrote:Will that be the update or the upgrade ?
Peter wrote : what exactly is the difference?
... it will probably be the free up grade V9.x
in general, but not an absolute rule :
update (most often bugfix, 9.x) > free
upgrade (big new features, from 9 to 10) > not free.

I guess this makes a good case for why it's not a good idea to leak improvements in progress. I'll just have to be more cautious in the future.Sewie wrote:So, no @smear for us

Re: Broken lines with custombrush ?
No problem with me, I'll wait till the next upgrade for that cool feature.
Hope they'll solve that broken line issue a bit faster.
(But yes, shame on you, Paul! )

Re: Broken lines with custombrush ?
Hi Sewie,
I've tried your brush, I've exactly the same issue .
I'm on TVP 8.6.4 , winXP 32 , tried with 3 different wacom drivers (last stable, last rc and last beta), no difference.
If a bugfix is found for this issue, I hope it will be applied to a v.8.6.5 too ! ( please Hervé don't forget us ^^ )
