Belated but heartfelt thankyou to (old) Mirage forum

Post by animumtrix »

Hello,

I used to be on the old Mirage forum under the name "seanak". I completed the film I was working on last autumn and wanted to send a big thanks to everyone but the forum was gone. Thanks to a heads-up from Paul, some people seem to be here. Thanks to Paul, Sierra, slowtiger and everyone for their suggestions (those are just some of the names I've found easily, there were many people who offered suggestions, or who tackled the same issues I did earlier and posted detailed messages...) My film is called "Nothing Like Her" and so far it's won one award and there are about 10 Canadian screening dates confirmed or in process, mainly smaller festivals and film societies. I felt badly that I couldn't say thankyou earlier, please accept my apologies.

And, I know the season is over, but here is a bit of foolishness I did for Christmas, I'm hoping to turn it into a series. Unfortunately I did it when my daughter brought home the remains of three or so colds at once from nursery, and kindly gave them all to me...

Congratulations. I saw that you already got included into that http://www.movingimages.ca/new/new.html#nothing catalogue.

Is there any chance we could see some stuff from the film? I didn't find any image or clip from it.

Hi,

This is a link to the website for the festival where I've won the award:

http://www.picturethisfestival.org/Cata ... keher.html

If you click on "Award Winners" for "Nothing Like Her" you get the jury comments.

and I'm going to cut a 1 minute trailer and put it up on YouTube. My company's website will be up hopefully before spring (which means May here, we're in Nova Scotia), and my distributor's website is being redesigned, so there isn't much there on it yet. When I get the trailer done, I'll post a link.

So, what is the learning curve like for the new software? I don't know if I will qualify for an upgrade, since I'll have to go from a PowerPC to an Intel Mac once I get a new machine (but Apple will have to refresh them first...).

ciao,
S

...to get to "Award Winners" you go to the main festival website:

www.ptff.org

and you see a set of buttons on the left.

Well Seanna,

It truly is a pleasant surprise to hear from you. I looked at your clip and it's great!

I have found TVP's (I have the Pro version) improvement over Mirage to be amazingly wonderful and you know how much I loved Mirage.

And this forum is just as responsive as the Bauhaus one was. I'm glad you are here!

yes because, basically it's the same crew,
excepted 2 or 3 vanished felons who were more involved in juicy business than in animation Art...

you are Welcome Seana ! :D
