Re: michaelspornanimation
Have you not posted this link with an opinion or purpose or perhaps a thought of your own on your mind?

Re: michaelspornanimation
weird ... a judicious link posted by a mysterious poster who post just like a spammer ...?
Re: michaelspornanimation
The "Splog" had some interesting stuff in it, but I found the site bland otherwise. This is the "links" board, so maybe it wasn't thought out as being anything more than a link to add to the pile?
Re: michaelspornanimation
Hi thearts,
Nobody seems to know who you are : maybe can you open a topic and introduce you and your work ?
Just posting a link sounds like a spam

Michael Sporn is a veteran NY animator with a long list of films. I visit his blog every day, just to learn some more animation history or watch artwork which is otherwise hard to find.

Re: michaelspornanimation
A good blog, IMHO, which I read daily. For some reason, I always read the URL as 'michael's porn animation' He does some excellent analysis of storyboards and animated sequences from classic films (especially if you like Disney).

Re: michaelspornanimation
I think most of us are aware of who Michael Sporn is,
welknown (around the animation world) as famous and prolific animation maker,
and personally, I have his blog bookmarked for a while now,
the remaining question being : is this "thearts" incoming member the Master himself,
or is it somebody else, a Michael's work fan who want to share this site full of ressources ?
... and if "thearts" and Michael Sporn is one and the same person,
why to choose to post anonimously, without introducing himself with few words ?
I presume he must have a lot of admirers here, and not any disparager,
so the only reason I can imagine actually is that, as our venerable Old Paul,
he doesn't like to be complimented so much ...

Re: michaelspornanimation
The poster definitely is not Mr Sporn himself, whom I found to be a verry nice gentleman in email. Besides, he wouldn't even have time to spam forums.

Re: michaelspornanimation
Micheal's blog ("splog") is one of the most interesting animation blogs around. It's a good link and worth bookmarking and checking out frequently.
Michael still works exclusively in hand-drawn animation , but he's processing his images through Photoshop and then compositing them with other programs (see his recent film "The Man Who Walked Between The Towers" , which was all hand-drawn, but digitally colored in Photoshop) .
I'd love to see Michael using TVPaint.
I seriously doubt that Michael would post a link to his blog anonymously. He's not an "anonymousy" kind of guy. If Michael was here, you'd hear him in his own voice loud and clear.

Re: michaelspornanimation
Michael was here in Phila a couple of years ago and I talked to him at length about, ehm... Mirage. He didn't seem to be too thrilled with the idea of going entirely digital therefore Photoshop seemed to be all he needed. He knows my work well so he understands that the results aren't digital looking. If I remember correctly (but how can I?) he also often hires temps and was concerned about going to software with a reputation for a steep learning curve, which is a valid concern in my view. He's set in a routine which has been good to him for a few decades now so I doubt he'll switch at this stage.I'd love to see Michael using TVPaint.
