Default settings for cutbrush tool

Post by Sewie »

Hello dear TVP friends,

I hope I am not asking a silly question here...

Whenever I use the cutbrush tool to cut and paste areas of a drawing/image in my project window, the options in the 'Tools : CustumBrush' window jump to their default settings. I am wondering if these default settings can be changed... What I am especially interested in is changing the settings from 'Erase' (1) to 'Color' and the Smooth options from 'None' (2) to Medium in the pulldown options as the default settings for whenever I use the cutbrush option again. Does anybody know if this can be done ?

Hope you can help.

In the cut brush panel, check the keep option.

Ok, but now when I work with the cutbrush tool (with the 'keep' option selected in the cutbrush tool panel) the size and the opacity values jump to different one than what I selected. See below. This only happens after working in TVP for some time ( couple of hours, or so...)

Image

I did not select the encircled values and when I change the the opacity value of my brush back to 100%, the brush in the project window does not change opacity (it stays vague). (When I change the size value, the brush does change size to the new value.)

When I close and restart TVP altogether this problem seems to be solved. But after working with for some time it occurs again. Am doing something wrong again ? Or is this a bug ?

hi Sewie,
I think you used a custombrush with these settings before,
probably a custom painting-tool in one of your custom panels .
about your 100% opacity problem, have you try a custombrush/Reset ?
(or, manually, reset the Opacity profile, because your curve's highest value isn't at 100% on your screenshot).

Thanks ZigOtto, it was indeed a custom painting tool that changed the settings. And the reset button does the trick for me.
