reset crop toll and transform tool
reset crop toll and transform tool
When I select the crop tool and the transform tool it has the setting from the last time I used it
is it possible to have it reset every time I select It?
Or is there a shortcut for this so I can make an action where i select the crop tool and then reset
or can I do it with a script?

I remember well when what you are asking for was the way the crop tool worked and it drove quite a few people nuts. Specifically dhomas trenn was very adamant about it being changed so that the tool would remember its last setting. When this change was finally implemented, there was an audible sigh of relief that could be heard around the world.

Re: reset crop toll and transform tool
oh i see.
i specifically asked for the transform tool NOT to reset every time i use it (this was the previous default)
so the solution would be to either make these resets assignable to a key or to make the default behaviour an option in the preferences.

Re: reset crop toll and transform tool
Well There is a reset for the "Tools Brush: reset"
It could be nice if it worked with the Cut tool and transform tool too
then I can make an action for my need, because I can see the sense in NOT resetting the tool

Re: reset crop toll and transform tool
And it doesnt seem That Im able to access and set the settings for the Crop tool through scripting.
if I use "Tv_getActiveTool"
It switches to the FreehandLine shape and selects the penBrush
that pretty weird after my opinion

Re: reset crop toll and transform tool
I'm actually a little frustrated with the crop tool. I don't know when it changed (after Mirage?), but it used to be that you could use the mouse buttons to size and position the crop area, without having to click on the tiny little sizing boxes. The old method was much faster to use. Maybe there's a setting in the prefs for this? If not, there should be.

Re: reset crop toll and transform tool
the crop tool is so much better then it was in Mirage and before.
I think the tool should stay as it is.
A much better Pref setting would be a slider of sorts to set the size of those 'HUD' interface boxes, i think that would make a great preference setting, because it would do so for all tools!

Re: reset crop toll and transform tool
Ok I found a way to reset the Transform tool. it unfortuanately dont work with the crop tool
-madsRe: crop tool woes
I've been using the crop tool a lot tonight, or should I say trying to. It's horrible this way. It is no longer pixel accurate, it's really a crap shoot if you get something cropped to the pixel you intend. It used to snap to a pixel regardless of the zoom, it no longer does, and I'm forever cropping and recropping to get what I intended. Also, the ability to size using the right mouse button (I think that's how it was) was a big time saver. When zoomed in now, it's a real pain in the butt to get to a knob to resize.
