after crashing all saved files lost

My PC just crashed and after restarting all the saved files (saved several times this day) with the same name of the project (I was last working on) are gone. :twisted:

Any tip ?? Hidden in some temp-folder ?

Just found them on my external HD, where I backed them.
But wondering why...
