Does TVPaint 9 have greater than 8bit per channel options now?
or the common work around...
Can you load 3rd party LUTs, or create them from outside programs like SpeedGrade?
2D or 3D LUTs?

From discussion elsewhere, It's still 8 bit.

What's the common workaround?

I only draw in 8 bit and composit in After effects for my 16 bit(if i need that)

Look Up Table. It's a way to conform colors to different devices and file types. ie: your LUT may limit color space, and shift it accordingly to visualize what output would look like in print, on film, on assorted video devices-whatever.
