Change pivot point

Can the pivot point of a cutout be changed now? I have been searching through the manual for this subject and can't find anything. I am on TVP9.

BTW the built-in manual (F1) is wonderful. It has a real search engine and an interactive directory on the side. There are some Franco-English language deficiencies which makes a search sometimes questionable but I understand that TVP is working on this problem.

in the tool panel there is a Handle drop down choose custom and set the pivot point.
is that what you seeked?

No, that's not what I meant. When I cut a brush and use the key command Brush: Rotate, a red bounding box appears around the cutout with an X in the center from which a handle can be extended to pivot the cutout around the X. I would like to have a way to reposition that X (the pivoting point) so the object could pivot around an off-center point.

You can also just assign a short-cut key to Brush:Move Handle Corner. Then move the handle where you want it on the current cutbrush.

For which I have no understanding at the moment... I wonder if I have ever needed something like that. I suppose it means that you can change the size of a cutout but distort the aspect ratio of the scaling -- or is it something that combines the transform tool and Warp tool?

no don't think so... but warping a custombrush is the next thing on the wishlist.

Back in the Mirage days you were experimenting a lot with flat puppets and animating cutouts. You talked about your ideas for making a toolset just for this technique, which I followed with interest because I like that kind of flat puppet animation when I see it (I haven't done anything with it myself in ages but there was a period when I was heavily into it). It has a lot of promising artistic merits I think. What happened next? Have you pursued some more or just gave it up?
