Flood Fill in layer below

Hello

In the last version of the Animator's Toolbar in Mirage it used to be a button that allowed you to Fill shapes in a layer below. I think it was called Magic Fill or something like this.

This way you could keep a layer for the outline and the filled color in a layer below.

Is this option available in TVPaint Pro?? You should implement it if not.

Yes David, you already have all that needed, and even more ...

Clone you "line" anim-layer with the [Cl] button of the Instance panel,
so, you will get the same animlayer (same timing), but with empty cells,
then, on this new layer, the one reserved to colors, use the FloodFill tool,
but after having set the Source to "Front", (FillShape panel, see pict.)
then,hit [>C] = next Cel, Fill, next Cel, Fill, next Cel, Fill, ... etc.
also don't miss the excellent "AutoPick Color" option, very handy with the LightTable !
(see 6-27 in the manual.)

OK, seeing this post, I decided to try it. The Cl button clones my layer but the flood fill just fills the entire screen when I use it.???? I must be doing something wrong, I thought I followed your directions exactly.

Sierra : the layer with your outlines must be on top of your current layer (Color), if you set the Source to Front.

yeap, the Clone Layer button originaly has been created to clean up a rough anim (blue pencil) on a new layer,
so it is placed on top of the original (the "blue" layer),
if you want to use it to create the color animlayer (down the clean outline layer)
you can edit the [Cl] button and remove the line1 Layer: Go Up command.

otherwise, you can color on a layer over the outline layer, but select "Back" as source,
when finished, just drag up the line layer above the color one.

It's part of the Instance Panel. Did you import this panel? You will otherwise not find in the default configuration.

yes, as it's mentioned, in the Instance Panel.
if your question now is "where can I find this Instance panel?",
the answer is : in the "Contents Sharing" section, more precisely HERE .

Thank you! This was exactly what I was missing!
In order to make the "clear-head" work I reassigned the script in the instance toolbar button to the script in your file, for I couldn't find a kind of default "george-folder" for *.grg files.
Or how do you guys do this?

afaik, there is no default George folder since 8.x, you can have george scripts stored anywhere you want,
(f.i. mines are on an other partition),
so, if you haven't already a george folder, create it,
collect all the george scripts you think they'll be of any use for you, and put them there,
then, in Custom Panel, re-assign the command(s) invoking a script to your own george folder location.
