I just recently updated from TVP Animation 8.5.10 to 8.6. It *seemed* to work okay when I installed it a couple of days ago, but when I launched TVP today I was presented once again with the licensing window so I entered my name & unlock code once again and clicked on "register" again and got a pop-up telling me that an unlock code is required. It would not accept my unlock code. I reinstalled the Sentinel driver & TVP but to no avail. I also noticed that keyboard shortcuts were not functioning, nor was the menu bar at the top.
I ended up trashing TVP 8.6 and reinstalling 8.5.10, which accepted my unlock code and is functioning normally.
Have any other Intel Mac users experienced problems with the non-pro v.8.6?
I have a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo iMac, 1.5 GB RAM, OS 10.4.11.

Re: Intel Mac Issues With TVP 8.6
Okay, I'm going to try again.
As stated previously, TVP v.8.6 launches but is completely unusable and unresponsive on my Intel iMac. Now I've downloaded the 8.6.1 update and that's even worse. It simply crashes when I try to launch it. I've gone back to v. 8.5.10, which works fine, but it really concerns me that I can't keep TVP up-to-date. I've been working with this wonderful program for a while now and installed several updates with absolutely no problems until 8.6.x.
I've also e-mailed tech support, but have received no response. TVP, please advise.

Ron,
Do you get a specific message when the software crashes ? Can you see the startup panel or does it happen just after downloading the interface ?
Please don't hesitate to send a screenshot.
Regards,
Fabrice.

Re: Intel Mac Issues With TVP 8.6
Eric and Fabrice,
Thank you both for responding. I appreciate it.
I am running OSX 10.4.11. (All my specs are at the end of my original post.)
With TVPv.8.6 I would at least be able to launch the program, but the drop-down menus displayed nothing, shortcut keys did not work, and in general the program was not usable at all. In v.8.6.1 I get the opening panel to set my project workspace and resolution, but when I click "OK" the TVP interface launches with the image of the man and the filmstrip and then crashes just before my new, empty project window should open up. The little Apple window pops up informing me that the application crashed and asking if I would like to see the details or send a report to Apple. I could send you this report but it is quite lengthy.
Update: I just tried launching TVP again and it crashed as before, but this time I clicked on "Reopen" in the crash pop-up window and, to my surprise, I got the opening screen with the original color scheme (I use more of a MIrage-like color scheme.) I clicked "OK" and v.8.6.1 actually launched, but without my custom panels and color scheme, and it requested my unlock code, which I entered successfully. I tried launching again and I get my old startup screen and it crashes as described and I click on "Reopen" and I get the 8.6.1 non-customized version. I reset the configuration and everything seems to work properly, but I lost all my custom brushes and panels.
I'm guessing that something about my previous configuration didn't work well with v.8.6.x. The only things I've done since the 8.5.10 update is added some Mirage papers and plug-ins and I downloaded the TVPPro demo. Again, these had no effect on v.8.5.10 . . . everything was functioning normally.
I guess I'll just start customizing 8.6.1 a bit at a time, testing as I go. Perhaps I'll be able to pinpoint exactly what is causing the problem. If you can think of any specific user customization that might potentially cause a problem with 8.6.x, that would be very helpful.
Thank you again!
Ron

Can you try this :
Open a terminal ( /Applications/Utilities/Terminal )
In the finder, click on the .dmg you downloaded and hit Cmd-C
Go to the terminal window and type :
md5 Cmd-V (this should display the path of the dmg file, and you should have something like this in the window :
md5 /Users/Desktop/TVP......dmg )
Hit enter, wait some 10-20 secs, and post the line that it will display.
