TVPaint & Mirage together?
I've received my new copy of TVPaint, but before I install, I was curious if Mirage and TVPaint can live happily on the same drive. I know that in the "Getting Started" booklet it is recommended to uninstall any previous versions of TVPaint, but I'd like to keep Mirage around for a bit (at least until I finish my current project).

Re: TVPaint & Mirage together?
I have both installed on the same HD with no problem to start one of them.
Although having this, I jumped over to TVP with my current projects and it worked out very well.

no conflict at all between the 2 apps,
but if you have the same dongle for the 2, I don't know if it's possible to run both at the same time,
(not tested here), though, running one after the other should work without any problem .

Running both with one dongle doesn't work for me.
Running both with two (different) dongle the same.

Excellent news--thanks. I'm not looking to run them both at the same time, I just didn't want to completely uninstall Mirage.

I seem to be able to run both Mirage and TVP off the same dongle, simultaneously... and even save a cutbrush or layer to the clip board in one app and retrieve it from the clipboard in the other without a problem.

I've got them both running on the same machine with the same dongle and with no troubles whatsoever. I don't really use Mirage anymore, but just can't bring myself to uninstall it.grumbleboy wrote:I've received my new copy of TVPaint, but before I install, I was curious if Mirage and TVPaint can live happily on the same drive. Re: TVPaint & Mirage together?
Raymond, easy to tell:
Mirage has edu-dongle, TVP (from Mirage updated the "commercial" one).
Having both connected to the usb-ports, TVP already running, starting Mirage doesn't recognize the dongle and I get the evalution-pop-up (Register now...; 30 days...).
This just happened on my Dell. I can give it also a try on my Alienware when I'm home (late evening).
I think the different dongles and their codes are in a mess on the Dell.
But anyway I don't worry because I don't work in Mirage anymore. I am only working with TVPpro on my current project.

Re: TVPaint & Mirage together?
so it won't bother you, and that's the good news!
but I always want to know why when things are working differently from one to another computer.
sometimes, there's something interesting to learn in solving issues, even when not essencial.
in your case, it seems to be an USB issue, I think, but I may be wrong.
