Will TVPaint continue to support RTV as a file format?
Re: Will TVPaint continue to support RTV as a file format?
Yes, but only in TVP Animation Pro

::sigh::
That doesn't tell me anything useful.
Conversion from image sequences out of LightWave into an RTV with alpha for use in VT4 is the primary task that Mirage performs for me. That, and some basic graphics stuff in the FX Stack.
Does the "Pro" part of that answer carry a large enough cost in money, that I'm better off buying a used copy of Mirage as a backup?

It looks like an answer to your question, if it was not very usefull, the problem lies probably in your question.
Again a rather sloppy question. i guess the answer could be... it dependsTom Wood wrote: Conversion from image sequences out of LightWave into an RTV with alpha for use in VT4 is the primary task that Mirage performs for me. That, and some basic graphics stuff in the FX Stack.

I'm not sure to understand what went wrong ... you are welcome on our forum.
As Hervé said, the RTV file format is still available in the Profesional version. (it's a very specific feature so we have decided to keep it in the Pro version)
Regarding which software to use, Peter is right, all depend on your needs :
You can search an old copy of Mirage as backup if you don't need the new features of TVP Animation Pro.
Otherwise, you can benefit of all the lastest improvements of the technology (new FX, painting tools, supported formats, etc ...) by upgrading to TVP Animation Pro.
all details are here : http://www.tvpaint.com/index.php?option ... 78&lang=en
be sure, that nobody here wanted to be abrupt with you : Peter and Hervé 's answers were just concise.
