KeyFramer Q and Intuos III pen Q
1. The little rocker switch on the side of my Intuos III pen doesn't do anything no matter what attributes I give it in the Wacom software. It's dead. Is this a common problem?
2. It used to be for me in Mirage that I would open the Fx Stack>KeyFramer and never close it -- just let it sit opened and I would find it in the same position upon return. Now, when I close TVPA and come back, the Fx Stack is there but the KeyFramer has to be fished out again; the stack panel is empty.
What should I do to make TVPA include this in the configuration setting's memory?

1) never heard it mention before, it still works in Mirage?
2)
the FXstack is no longer a global machine but project specific.
so only if you reopen the project where you had the keyframer open you will see the stack with the keyframer in it
i guess it would be possible to create a custom button that opens up the FXstack with a keyframer (not sure)
so you could quickly summon it when you are in a new project.

I think this might have something to do with me working on a trial version which has no memory. The template save is also ghosted. I'll wait to comment on this after I am up and running with a dongle Key.

you're right, I have a couple of FX-Stack Bins that I call from custom buttons, (set FXstack Bin ...)Tantalus wrote:i guess it would be possible to create a custom button that opens up the FXstack with a keyframer (not sure)

it's so easy to get FXs, whatever the current project is.
my 2 cents :
1) "Add to Bin" every useful FX,
2) Export the most used (important for you),
so you will keep a safe backup.

Thanks, Zig. I must try that. In the mean time I have solved my rocker switch. The only thing TVPA won't let me use for a command is MMB, so I programmed my upper switch of the pen to be a keystroke. So I assigned number 1 on the Numeric Pad to toggle Light Table and I have a pen that functions the way I want it to:
The bottom switch is by default an eraser and the top one a light table toggle switch. Those are the two most used attributes I need when I draw; turn on the bottom light, draw, erase, turn off the light etc.

OK, I have saved a .bin of the FX Stack with KeyFramer and importing it in an empty FX Stack Panel brings up the Key Framer.
Where I still need help getting instructions for how to create a Custom Tool Bar button pointing to the bin. I know how to make a new ToolBar and button, but after opening None, where do I go?

I had the same question on another thread. I just tried your idea and assigned keystroke "a" to the upper rocker switch, which is also the keystroke that turns on the light table from the keyboard (a). But it doesn't work. How did you do that?Paul Fierlinger wrote:Thanks, Zig. I must try that. In the mean time I have solved my rocker switch. Sierra, it seems to me that you did exactly what I did. The only thing I can think of is to double check that you really have "a" assigned to the top switch. I can't think of anything else -- except perhaps just as a test assign Light Table toggle to another key -- one of those esoteric ones and assign the same to your pen. Maybe "a" is for some reason "off limits", just like MMB seems to be off limits in TVPA.

did you carefully read my previous post, Paul ? the answer was there :Paul Fierlinger wrote: I know how to make a new ToolBar and button, but after opening None, where do I go?
RMB edit the button, click on "none" and go to Set FXStack Bin /yourBinFile from the popup list.ZigOtto wrote:... (set FXstack Bin ...)

Here's the problem: I don't have that one line on my list of options. No wonder I was stumped! My trial version says it's TVPaintAnimation Pro 8.5.10 US Feb 27 2008. Perhaps that feature came at a later date?

they probably sent you a "light" version, cause everybody knows you are drawing all, included camera move,
so why to emcumber you with such FX Stack crappy thingy ?
(just kidding)
seriously, I've no idea why you haven't the "Set FX Stack Bin..." command,
this feature came far before the v8.5.10, I am still in v8.5.9 (june 2007) and I have it .
you have to wait for monday morning and ask to one of the tvp guys.

Maybe right there is the explanation. This wouldn't be the first time that I have seen something inadvertently deleted in between new releases. It'd be interesting to hear from anyone who has my version if it's there or not.I am still in v8.5.9 (june 2007) and I have it .
Besides drawing my own camera moves anyway, this is not such a big deal in my work flow. Thanks for taking the trouble though.
