Sketch tools

Post by M »

Hi all. I've been testing the TVP demo for a while now, and I'd like to see if others are getting the same result with the Sketch tools:

I rough out with the blue and orange, and clean up with the black. All fine and lovely. But when I erase or delete blue and orange to leave the black, the line has been eaten into and degraded. Not by a vast amount, but by enough to make a fine smooth black line look blocky and rough edged.

Have a look at my test images to see what I mean.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi M
This problem appears when two version of the Sketch panel are mixed.
Update the eraser button to the last version to fix it.

Hi Herve,

Thanks for the reply.
Where do I find the update for this?

Cheers, M.

Hi M,
You will find it in the latest demo. Download it and you will have the latest version of the sketch panel.

Hi,
I'm using a version of the demo which I downloaded on 5th March. (TVPaint Animation Pro 859) Have you made a new version available in the last week or so?

You could have an old version in your config.
The panels are not reloaded if the configuration is not reseted.
Delete your current Sketch panel ( RMB->This Panel->Delete ) and restart TVPA

Hi, I've done everything you said, but I'm still getting the same results.
The lighter blacks that, when zoomed in, look either blue grey or orange grey are being deleted, resulting in a loss of anti aliasing on the areas of the black line that cross the coloured lines. 100% black lines are unaffected, even 50% black look ok, it's the lightest (most transparent) blacks that give the line it's smoothness are lost where they overlap blue or orange.

We found a little bug in the current version of TVPA.
The next update will fix it.
