Sound is crunchy and track not loading properly
Hi TVPaint forum,
I am working on a Mac mini running 11.7.5 (11.7)
I have updated my Wacom software - but just saw there is a TV Paint 12... will up grade. My track sounds oddly crunchy in TVZp and plays as it should on iTunes , the other problem is that the track is not loading as it should (and did last week) It loads a few frames in - so I miss a beat or two when the track is played.
I've restarted the computer and re loaded the track
And both problems remain the same. I would so appreciate some help with this. Many thanks, Debra

Re: Sound is crunchy and track not loading properly
Hello, could you post a screenshot of the small "Proxy Settings" window which opens upon right clicking on the "Proxy" bar at the bottom of the TVPaint interface, please?

Was your project's framerate changed sometime after you created it?

Re: Sound is crunchy, distorted
Hi Dean,
I have reinstalled TVPaint, downloaded my music track again. That did not fix the problem.
Then I exported the project file and when that plays the sound is clean. So it's clean in and clean out, but when i am working on the file there is distortion. The file is loading properly, the distortion covered up the first few notes.
What settings might I be missing ?
thank you, Debra

Ps
I see that my reply to your framerate question didnt post. No I did not change the frame rate while working on the project. See post above to see my troubleshooting.
thanks again

Re: Sound is crunchy and track not loading properly
Does this issue happen with any audio file?
You could try converting the file to another format or same format with a different codec, using Handbrake or something similar.
Also, would it be possible for you to post a short video of playback with the bugged audio, with the whole interface visible and sound timeline open?

Hi Dean,
Yes it happens with all audio files. I don't use conversion software. Will post video in a few minutes.

Re: Sound is crunchy and track not loading properly
Hi Dean, I had trouble uploading the files so i emailed them...
as it turns out they were too large but I wanted you to hear 30 of the sound.
thank you again,

Re: Sound is crunchy and track not loading properly
Our main hypothesis is that some remnants of a previous TVPaint's version sound settings remain in your current configuration.
Could you try running TVPaint with a fresh configuration, created in parallel of your current one, and see if the issue persists?
First, you can back up all your custom panels and brushes: https://doc-tvp11.tvpaint.com/index.php ... m-settings
Then in the Startup tab of the Preferences (Shift + D), you can enable the Startup panel by changing the "Startup configuration" setting to "Open Startup Panel".
Then relaunch TVPaint. From the Startup Panel, you can click "New" to create a new configuration. The collapsible menu on the left allows you to chose which configuration TVPaint will use when launching.

Re: Sound is crunchy and track not loading properly
Hi Dean,
After backing up all the custom panels I restarted in the new configuration. However all of the old panels reappeared and the sound issue was not solved. I am assuming the panels were not supposed to reappear?

Re: Sound is crunchy and track not loading properly
Yes the panels shouldn't have reappeared.
You could also try deleting the TVPaint "config.ini" file manually.
The config file can be found in Library > tvp animation 11 pro > default.
Sometimes the "real" Library folder is hidden by default on MacOS, you can follow this guide to reveal it:

In the Library, in which folder will I find the " tvp animation 11 pro > default " ?
Re: Sound is crunchy and track not loading properly
Hi Dean,
Well you were right a remnant of a tvp file was causeing the issue. With Apple tech support I created a new user where the issues with TVpaint did not reoccur. The Apple rep said it was corrupted TVP file in the original user. The Rep spent over an hour with me and we could not find the " TVPaint "config.ini" file". She said that it would be best if the third party software people could screen share and find and delete the corrupted file. Believe me we could not find it.
As my files mainly live in the original user account I would really appreciate it if you could help me find the corrupted file tomorrow. Anytime after 6 AM NYC time, let me know what works for you.
Thank you in advance
