'Playback from current frame' broken

Post by mikdog »

I'm using TVP Pro 11.7.5 on Mac M4 Mini.
When I press spacebar to 'playback and pause from current frame', the playhead does pause, but when I press spacebar again to resume the playhead skips ahead, with increasing jumps ahead the more I press space to pause and resume.
It almost makes the program unusable.
I've included a video to demonstrate.
I've tried assigning a different shortcut key (eg 'C' instead of 'Spacebar'), there's no difference.
How do I fix this please? I imported my keyboard shortcuts from another computer in case that broke something.

Please see video above that demonstrates this behaviour in all TVPaint projects.

What seemed to solve it was going to:
Macintosh HD > Users > [yourname] > Library > tvp animation 11 pro
and renaming the 'default' folder to 'default_broken' or whatever, and then restarting TVPaint so that it creates a fresh 'default' folder.
Hope this maybe helps someone else in the future.

Nope - the issue has returned.

How do I solve this, please? Does anyone have any tips for getting the playhead to behave as intended, please? I'd be super grateful, I'd like to try finish my work and the tech issues seem to get in the way all too often.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Mikdog, could you upload your personal config.ini file so we can try using it in the office and see the bug, please?

In case useful - when *KeyFramer* is active, the playhead always skips ahead when previewing the effect, is [apparently] impossible for me to get the playhead to play from its current location, I always have to set the playhead back quite a long way back or play from the beginning of the clip.

Wanted to share 2 vids to quickly demonstrate the KeyFramer issue which seems reproducible - playback normally works as intended, but as soon as I add KeyFramer, the playhead starts skipping ahead, even when no keys are set. When I delete keyframer, playhead works as intended again:

And then in project timeline view, I also get the skipping ahead issue where the playhead always wants to play the next clip that I intend to play, though I figured out (just now) that if I click twice to set the playhead which I show later in the vid, it usually jumps back to its position:
