1: Sudden ctrl + z ghost.
- I can not for the life of me figure out how to duplicate this bug but it's happened enough times to be absolutely infuriating. Imagine just drawing - No hand on the keyboard, no finger anywhere near a button on your tablet then suddenly as you lift your pen, Something I can only describe as a hacker-ghost decides to ruin your day. You watch as everything you drew systematically gets deleted in sequence like somebody pressed Ctrl + Z the maximum number of times... Then the drawing vanishes and suddenly a preview plays. When I tried to Redo, I realize in horror that I can't. After undoing everything it activates another completely random action (like the transform tool) to completely block me from reclaiming what I drew. It's like the program itself just threw all my work out in the most disrespectful way possible. With no control to stop it.
One thing when you're sketching, but a whole other beast when you're doing delicate inking. You can easily lose 10 minutes worth of work, and I'm the kind of person who saves every 10-15 minutes.
If anybody else knows this bug or can duplicate it, please post examples of it here.
- I switch to my browser or discord and flick back to TVP, my tool will completely change to a tool I haven't used in ages. Lets say I use the Sketch Panel's blue pen without anti-aliasing, I tab over and it's suddenly the soft pencil tool with the color set to red.
Sometimes if I tab over and back again, it switches back to the tool I was using before the change. Other times You're stuck with this new tool, gaslighting you as if you used it. I actually thought I was going crazy the first of many times I encountered this bug. This adds a LOT of extra button presses to the process and makes the overall process feel more like a chore. Its entirely random when it happens.
- Self-explanatory. I flip my pen to eraser and it erases. Then TVP will not register my pen flip back to normal and it stays on eraser. Flipping a pen is instant and intuitive just like a real pencil. This extra time spent to go hunt down the tool I was using before adds up on animation projects. I often have to reset when this happens because once you see the bug once, it stays during your session.
Different bugs related to the fill tool.
- For no reason the tool will just reset to default. Sometimes on program startup. Sometimes as I flip to another tool and back. If you had a perfect setup including specific colors to exclude from the sketch panel this is a serious time-killer.
- Normally, Right-clicking undoes paint. This is a very cool and clean feature that I adore. on a Cintiq pen, this maps to the bottom button - Until it randomly isn't and the bottom button will randomly flood the rest of the unpainted screen, ignoring closed lines.
- If for whatever unholy reason you have to use transform on your aliased lines, (this itself is subpar and creates nasty misaligned pixels. I understand the logic of the software, but Please if you can program a fix to that, please do - Yes I check off "none" on the anti-aliasing box) After you spend 20 minutes recleaning the lines you modified and check for gaps and then use the fill tool, it will randomly flood the rest of the unpainted screen. I've experimented when this happens. That frame becomes "bad" and this effect locks on that specific frame. If you save and restart TVP, it behaves normally again.
