I saw this on CartoonBrew, it's a nice article summing up his life and career. I know he was quite active on the forum over the years. RIP.

Re: RIP Paul Fierlinger
I am very sad to read of Paul's passing. My condolences to his wife (and creative partner) Sandra. (Sandra, if you're reading this , I hope you will be able to return to this forum at some point as an active participant. We miss your contributions here , too)
My first exposure to TVPaint (aka "Mirage" at that point) was through Paul's work and his enthusiastic recommendation of TVPaint. He contributed so much to this forum over the years. (and to forums for previous incarnations of TVPaint , marketed under the brand names "Aura" and "Mirage") He hasn't been present here for a few years as health issues became more and more of a challenge.
I continue to find Paul and Sandra's art and their example as independent animators , working in animation on their own terms from their home-based animation studio, to be an inspiration. One thing I admire about Paul is that he was always animating , always kept at it, even after some serious health set backs in recent years. He was a very disciplined animator.
RIP, Paul. You have been missed here and we will continue to miss you.
