Can't Right Click with Wacom Pen

Post by Lukas »

Hi everyone, I need help getting right clicking with the wacom to work.

I'm currently on:
  • Wacom 27QHDT
  • TVP 11.7.5 Pro 64 bits
  • Windows 10
I assigned right click to my Wacom Pen button, it works in all software except for TVPaint.
Windows Ink is enabled in Wacom and TVPaint. (I've tried without Windows Ink, but that does not fix it and makes the cursor not move, even though drawing is OK).

Not sure what to do.

Using the mouse to right click works fine.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hello Lukas, do you have a TVPaint profile in your Wacom driver?
Did you try with Ink disabled in the driver and TVPaint (aka in Wintab mode, with Subpixel on if necessary)?

Hi Dean,

I don't have a TVPaint profile in the driver, only "All". (Edit: I've created a TVP profile in the driver, with the right settings, but the effect remains the same)

I have tried disabling Ink in both the driver *and* TVPaint with subpixel. (Subpixel was nessecary for drawing to work), but it did not solve the right mouse button, and seemed to work worse than Windows Ink.

Additional observation: When I hover over a frame instance and press the 'right click' button on the pen, it shows the 'Instance Name' dialog. (Without the pen ever touching the screen). So the right mouse seems to register as the left mouse.

Finally got it to work!

After a complete uninstall and fresh installs of both the Wacom Drivers and TVPaint, right click works when using Wintab instead of Windows Ink.

Hello Lukas, this is interesting. Which version of the Wacom driver did you reinstall?

This one: Windows Driver 6.4.9-2

I hadn't used TVPaint in a long time on this device, so I was running a slightly outdated version of TVPaint and an older version of the driver the last time I used it. Initially I updated the driver to 6.4.9-2 via their update button. So maybe the complete uninstall of the updated did the trick because there were some leftovers from an older version that messed things up.
