when working on a project with many layers and containing different "shots"/segments in one clip.
It would be very helpful if we could lock the position of the timeline.
so you zoom in on a specific layer ("fit to layer")
then lock the layerpanel slider now the timelines stays focused on that segment of the timeline...
.
This image shows an example where it would be very handy to have...:
.
maybe also make locking a timeline position/zoom possible through the dropdown menu...
and reminder we still need this "FIT TO" drop down menu in the project view too!
and and... fit to Mark In - Mark Out is missing

Re: timeline position lock
Again i run into wanting a solution for this:
a way to lock the layer timeline position. because if you aproach the edge of the timeline view, the timeline will start scrolling, thereby shifting the layer you are working on out of view...
In shorter clips where most layers start at frame 1, its not a big problem
but it can be especially annoying if you work on a layer somewhere in the middle of a larger clip, because the shifting happens on both sides (left and right)

Re: timeline position lock
We have something planned (and already done in internal builds) for v12.0.3 regarding the empty spaces in the Timeline and its Lock button, to make it so it's almost like it was in v11.
Beta testers should see it hopefully by the end of the week
