Version 11.7.1 works wonders for me. Very seldom crashes. But yeah... agree with you here. Grease Pencil looks more promising with each update.dmceachern wrote: ↑05 Jun 2024, 22:30 I downloaded the trial to see if there was an improvement but it crashed repeatedly for me. Personally, I have started to regret purchasing this software, with it barely being usable with the crashing and prior to that the lagging because of running through Rosetta. I love the software, but the number of bugs, the extremely slow move to make it native on new Mac hardware, and this crashing bug has me considering other options. I’m definitely going to have to think long and hard about giving TVPaint anymore of my money. They just don’t feel very committed to the Mac platform.

Hope you came right, Gerhard! Maybe the .3 update helped?

Hello! Unfortunately I'm starting to have very frequent crashes when using 11.7.3 as well. Can someone help direct me to the 11.7.1 or 11.7.2, with uninstall/install directions to make sure there's no conflicting with the versions?
I'm on:
MacOS Monterey 12.7.2
Apple M1 Max 32GB
Thank you very much.

Re: TVPaint 11 keeps crashing
Ok it turns out I still have the 11.7.1 version lying around in my Applications folder, but I'm afraid to double click the .dmg file since I don't know how the codemeter/WIBU thing works.
(I actually did, and it shows me the pop up to install the codemeter.dmg)
I don't know if we're allowed to have more than one version running at the same time- I'm afraid I'll get locked out TVPaint completely if I just move forward, and I have a project deadline.
Can someone tell me what I should do to move from my current 11.7.3 (also WIBU) to 11.7.1?
Thank you.

Re: TVPaint 11 keeps crashing
Are there any news on the topic? TV Paint 11.7.3 keeps crashing and it is impossible to work this way.
so is that the only solution now, to come back to 11.7.1?
Should the M1/M2 Processors users accept the fact, that they should stay on the 11.7.1?
Because the thread was started already in March, almost half a year ago.

Thank You Dean for the quick response!
I hoped I had the 11.7.1 in the downloads Folder but I don’t... could I ask for a download File in the meantime? Or is there any other way to downgrade the 11.7.3 to 11.7.1?

Re: TVPaint 11 keeps crashing
The TV Paint 11.7.1 doesn’t crash indeed, but the stroke (while drawing with the simple pencil from the main Tools-Menu) comes a bit dalayed, like, in some cases I am not really able to draw ellipses. It lags a bit. Do I need to reset configuration or smth. like that? I can't find the old info though, how to do it, the links were for the old documentation page, which has been renewed.

Re: TVPaint 11 keeps crashing
Hello, resetting your configuration might help, otherwise check the "line smoothing" setting:

Re: TVPaint 11 keeps crashing
Hello,
resetting configuration didn't help. neither line smoothing.
While drawing a circle or an ellipse, it is beeing drawn not „round". Sometimes it looks correct, sometimes it looks „angular“.
here is what I am talking about:
