How to control 2nd imported video's sound track?

Post by maara_p »

Hello,
I'm using TVP 11.7.3 Standard.
I have imported 2 .mp4 videos in my project. Then made some edits to the image layer from the second video. I only want soundtrack from the 1st one though. Now the problem is in the Sounds panel, I only see the sound track from the 1st video – which I can mute and control through there – but the soundtrack from the 2nd video is nowhere to be seen. How do I mute it, please?

I'm not sure, but I think TVP standard only has 1 soundtrack at a time.
TVP 10.0.18 and 11.0 MacPro Quadcore 3GHz 16GB OS 10.6.8 Quicktime 7.6.6
TVP 11.0 and 11.7 MacPro 12core 3GHz 32GB OS 10.11 Quicktime 10.7.3
TVP 11.7 Mac Mini M2pro 32GB OS 13.5

Well, that limitation would be totally fine be me IF the second soundtrack did not actually import and then got stuck in my project without me being able to control it or remove it.

I just found a workaround – so for those who got stuck in the same situation:
1) Make sure you still have the 1st sound track source file.
2) Remove the visible 1st sound track (right click on soundwave in Sound panel -> Delete).
3) Reload sound dependencies to make the 2nd sound track appear in Sound panel (Clip -> Dependencies -> Sound Tracks -> Reload All Sound Tracks).
4) Remove the now visible 2nd soundtrack.
5) Import the 1st sound track back.
