TVPaint Animation 11.7.1 is available!
Re: TVPaint Animation 11.7.1 is available!
I'm getting the issue of my Wacom eraser not functioning properly in this version, I just did a fresh install of windows 10 and this issue never occurred with my last install..
it never returns back to the previous tool after erasing like it used to..
I tried the most up to date Wacom driver, the driver closest to dec 22 and even an older one to no avail...

I managed to solve the eraser issue by clicking on different brush presets in the included custom panels, I wonder if this only happens for extra fresh installs?

Hello everyone,
We have released a hotfix addressing the following issues:
We have released a hotfix addressing the following issues:
- Greatly lowered the chance of getting a license error on Windows 11 for the dongleless version.
- Light Table no longer shows up during playback.
- Playback with Camera View now works like it used to before v11.7.1.
- Notes are once again displayed on the timeline when Interface Scaling is at 1,5 or 2,5
- When exporting FX settings, the bin name should no longer be "bin.bin" but instead the FX name. For example, if you export the Keyframer settings, the file will be "Keyframer.bin". You might need to refresh your configuration for this change to be applied.
- Applying FX Stack when the source is "Color Group" or "Selected Layer" no longer creates a layer containing only one frame.
- Warp Grid handles are displayed once again.
- The George command tv_SetActiveShape "crop" is once again working correctly.
Re: TVPaint Animation 11.7.1 is available!
Just wanted to let you know that the hotfix crashes the program anytime I try to turn Stencils on/off. Makes it impossible to work on files that I've already had stencils on in.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: TVPaint Animation 11.7.1 is available!
I can confirm this bug: Hotfix version 11.7.1 April 28, 2023 crashes immediately if the Stencil is turned on.

Re: TVPaint Animation 11.7.1 is available!
My notes below.
We have released a hotfix addressing the following issues:
--------------
UPDATE: the problem with the application crashing when enabling Stencil has now been fixed in the second hotfix released on May 3, 2023 -
Also, see the two previous posts above regarding the crashing bug when stencil is enabled:
Hotfix version 11.7.1 April 28, 2023 crashes immediately if the Stencil is turned on.
I hope this one can be fixed quickly and another hotfix version released this week because this one is a disabling bug , the program is actually broken if anyone wants to use the stencils, which I do frequently. (or even if someone is working on a scene with no need to use the stencil, but has the misfortune to accidentally click on the stencil button -- instant crash and all their work is lost.)
We have released a hotfix addressing the following issues:
- Greatly lowered the chance of getting a license error on Windows 11 for the dongleless version. (I did not have this problem so someone with Windows 11 will need to confirm)
- Light Table no longer shows up during playback. (I did not experience this problem. Light Table continues to work as usual for me.)
- Playback with Camera View now works like it used to before v11.7.1. Camera view playback works correctly for me in the April 28 hotfix.
- Notes are once again displayed on the timeline when Interface Scaling is at 1,5 or 2,5 Works.
- When exporting FX settings, the bin name should no longer be "bin.bin" but instead the FX name. For example, if you export the Keyframer settings, the file will be "Keyframer.bin". You might need to refresh your configuration for this change to be applied. Works ... but continues to have a problem with the correct naming of the exported file, attaching the name of the previously exported FX to the current FX being exported , instead of using the name of the current FX. So the user must manually change the name of the FX being imported in the Save As window.
Also, in the main TVPaint config folder the FX Bin files continue to be displayed with redundant name of "bin.bin" for every FX category instead of naming them properly as "Keyframer.bin" , "Multiplane.bin" , "Particles.bin" , etc. . All are named "bin.bin".
- Applying FX Stack when the source is "Color Group" or "Selected Layer" no longer creates a layer containing only one frame. Works.
- Warp Grid handles are displayed once again. Works.
- The George command tv_SetActiveShape "crop" is once again working correctly. I have not tried it. (I seldom use George scripting, so will leave it to those who do to confirm this is working.)

I created a fresh config , but I'm still seeing the FX Bin files displayed with name "bin.bin" .
How is it supposed to work to have FX bins saved with their proper names (for example: Keyframer.bin , Color Adjust.bin , Blur.bin , Particles.bin) instead of the repetitive "bin.bin".
Thierry wrote: "You might need to refresh your configuration for this change to be applied."
Does "refresh your configuration" simply mean to create a new configuration or does it mean all the previous configurations must be deleted first , then a new configuration created ?
Is this working for anyone else ? (i.e. "When exporting FX settings, the bin name should no longer be "bin.bin" but instead the FX name. For example, if you export the Keyframer settings, the file will be "Keyframer.bin" )

Re: TVPaint Animation 11.7.1 is available!
Hello David,
Could you let us know if you are exporting your bins to those folders specifically (it seems you are within TVPaint's config folder there)?
Those bins are automatically created within this folder on macOS upon exporting a FX bin. The "bin.bin" name will be used there, even if the chosen exported name was different. This seems to be old code and the developers are currently investigating this to understand why this creation of such duplicates happens in the first place.
I can confirm that the FX bin naming works with a fresh config on my end. However, if you change the default name to something else, TVPaint will remember the last name you entered and use this in place of the default effect's name afterwards.
We are currently discussing this with the developers, as I think removing this "remember last used name" feature would be better when one seeks to export FX bins.

Re: TVPaint Animation 11.7.1 is available!
Ok, thanks for explaining that. I thought the change would be to have the FX bins in the TVPaint config folder be named appropriately, so for example the Keyframer bin would be named "KeyFramer.bin" instead of "bin.bin". And so forth ... Multiplane Camera bin would be named "Multiplane.bin" instead of "bin.bin" , Color Adjust named "Color Adjust.bin" instead of "bin.bin" , etc.Matthieu wrote: ↑04 May 2023, 12:30 Hello David,

Here is how it now works for me when exporting an FX from the bin in 11.7.1 (hotfix April 28, 2023) -
Current FX in the bin is Blue Block move v1. Click on Export.
When the Save As window opens for the first time the FX name is "Keyframer". I must manually change this to the name of the current FX I am exporting: "Blue Block move v1"
Then the final result is this:
However, if I want to export another FX in the Bin , this one named "Blue Block move v2" when I click on Export the name in the Save As window is "Blue Block move v1" (the previously exported FX) , but it seems like it should be the current FX that is being exported ( "Blue Block move v2" ) instead of having to manually change the name each time.
This also happens when I move to a different FX Stack category , such as Distortion > Warp Grid. If I have a saved FX in the Warp Grid bin called "Warp Grid Yellow Box v1" and I click on Export , the name in the Save As window is the previously exported FX (from the KeyFramer bin) called "Blue Block move v2" .

Yes, it would be better not to have "remember last used name" when exporting an FX from the bin. The name should be the name of the current FX being exported.

Re: TVPaint Animation 11.7.1 is available!
I'm glad I checked back to this thread and happened to notice the edit in your post from May 3, because I've been checking on the website to see if the fix had been released, but the website still says: "last update on April 28th, 2023". (so I would never have known to download it if I had not seen your edited post above)

Hello, Theirry.
Due to my circumstances, the communication was delayed.
I would like to inform you about the results of the tv_SetActiveShape "crop" I requested, but it did not improve.
I will send you the execution image and the code of the script I am using. This content worked fine up to 11.5.x.
